Junior / Intermediate Full Stack Engineer
Join us as we scale Layer8 across the UK and into the US.
Jonathan Nathanson, CTO
👋 A bit about us
At Layer8, we’re on a mission 🚀 to make tech (the network) in multi-tenanted buildings just work — for landlords, operators, MSPs and, most importantly, tenants. Our cloud-native platform is already live with some of the UK’s biggest landlords and the largest privately owned MSP in the country, and we’re just getting started.
With the flexible workspace market growing 20% year-over-year in the UK and 40% across major US cities — and expected to represent 30% of all commercial real estate by 2030 — it’s an incredibly exciting time to join a PropTech company that’s building the tools this market needs to thrive.
Built on a modern stack (React, Node.js APIs, Python/Celery/FastAPI, Azure App Services & Functions, Auth0, GitHub Actions), we move fast, ship often, and care deeply about code quality, reliability, and user experience.
🌟 The role
We’re looking for a Junior / Intermediate Full Stack Developer to contribute to end-to-end delivery of critical features as part of our development team. You’ll work hands-on across React, Node.js, and Python services, focusing on feature delivery, code quality and platform reliability, while learning the ropes of architecture, DevOps practices and network integrations. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive, fast-paced startup environment.
Your primary objective: build software experiences which turn customers into fans.
🔧 What you’ll be doing
- Build & implement scalable features in our React frontend and Node.js / Python backend (FastAPI, Celery) 🛠️
- Work on integrations with network devices, IPAM, monitoring platforms, Wi-Fi authentication systems, CRMs and partnered PropTech tools 🔌
- Help to evolve our homegrown DevOps and CI/CD processes by further developing our GitHub Actions pipelines, Terraform definitions and observability integrations. 🔄
- Ensure quality & reliability: write and maintain unit, integration and end-to-end tests, participating in code reviews to uphold high standards 🧪
- Contribute to our cloud-native platform to optimise performance, security and scalability ⚙️
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations and customer success to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. 🤝
